  • To manage waitlists and match families with available puppies
  • To process adoption applications and coordinate puppy delivery
  • To send updates about new litters, available puppies, and care information (only if you have opted in)

3. Contact Forms & Adoption Applications

When you submit a contact form or adoption application on our website, your information is transmitted securely to our backend service (hosted on Supabase) and forwarded to our team via email. We retain submitted inquiries for as long as necessary to fulfill their purpose or until you request deletion. Our contact form includes a honeypot field and rate limiting to prevent spam submissions.

4. Newsletter Subscriptions

When you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address (and optionally your first name) to send you updates about new litters, puppy care tips, and news from Furry Friends HQ. Subscription is entirely optional and requires your explicit consent.

  • Your email address is stored securely in our database and may be added to our email marketing contact list (Brevo).
  • You can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link included in every email, or by contacting us directly.
  • Multi-subscription attempts from the same address are rate-limited to prevent spam.

5. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

Our website uses cookies to enhance your browsing experience. Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. We use the following types of cookies:

  • Essential Cookies: Required for basic website functionality such as navigation and secure areas. These cannot be disabled.
  • Analytics Cookies: Help us understand how visitors interact with our website by collecting anonymous usage data. These are only set after you provide consent.
  • Marketing Cookies: Used to deliver relevant advertisements and track campaign performance. These are only set after you provide consent.

6. Third-Party Services

  • Supabase: Backend infrastructure for our contact forms, providing database hosting, edge functions, and data storage.
  • Google Fonts: Font delivery service. Google may collect usage data per their Privacy Policy.
  • Font Awesome (via CDN): Icon library. CDN provider may log standard access data.
  • MapQuest: Map services used on our Contact page for location display.
  • Brevo: Email delivery service used to send our newsletter and transaction emails. When you subscribe, your email address may be added to our Brevo contact list.
  • Google Analytics (when consent is given): Website analytics service provided by Google LLC. Google Analytics uses cookies to analyze website usage. Data collected is pseudonymized and processed in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected:

  • Contact form submissions: Retained for up to 2 years from the date of submission, or until the inquiry has been fully resolved, whichever is sooner.
  • Newsletter subscriptions: Retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion, at which point your email address is removed from our database and email marketing list.
  • Adoption records: Retained for the lifetime of the dog plus 2 years, to support ongoing health guarantee and rehoming commitments.
  • Analytics data: Anonymized after 26 months.

8. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include HTTPS encryption for all data in transit, secure hosting infrastructure, input sanitization on all form submissions, and regular security assessments. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right to Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Right to Erasure: Request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal obligations.
